Missing Parts
Okay so this book is okay. I've no problem with the narrator’s voice or anything. This one doesn't seem to have the sound effects included in the audio books in this series but that’s fine. Audio books really don't need them. The one thing that I have a problem with is that anyone who listens to the audio book isn't getting the whole story. In the real book there are a few parts in the beginning that are narrated by both Nudge and Gazzy. They are really important to making sure that the others members of the flock are round instead of flat. Here we see The Gas Man's and Iggy's um pyrotechnic abilities at work for the first time. Nudge is also so kind as to tell us a little more about Fang and herself. The parts left out won’t ruin the plot but they are important even if short. Not to mention how funny they are.
'Page Turner' for the Kids
We listened to this book in the car driving from Granny's house to the beach. My 11 year old twin girls loved it. Every time I paused the book, they immediately asked me to turn it back it on.
I enjoyed the story, too. It sure made the five hour car ride go by a lot quicker than usual.
The characters are interesting and the story line is well paced to keep. It's an audio 'page turner'.
